Practical Workshops and Services for Authors to help your career and save you money.
About Magelight Press
Magelight Press is both a publishing imprint and a company who provides services for both independent and hybrid authors. We provide services such as proofreading and editing, print and ebook formatting, Amazon Sales Copy Formatting, and we just added a new video workshop to teach those who want a new income stream how to format for print using Adobe InDesign.
Magelight Press is based in Pennsylvania. Due to the need for privacy, since we have no physical location, we use a postal fowarding service that is based in Portland, Oregon. Don’t worry. If you send us mail, we will still get it. It just may take a few extra days to get here.
At the present time, we only have the InDesign: Beginner to Master workshop available. We hope to add more soon.
Some people are visual learners, some learn best by listening to lectures. Some can only learn by getting into the grit and doing it themselves. By offering bite-sized videos with transcripts and step-by-step instructions below each video, we are able to cater to the learning practices best suited to each individual.
The InDesign: Beginner to Master workshop is currently available, however we have not yet had the time to get transcripts and the step-by-step instructions written and posted. Once you sign up, you have access to the videos for life, so check back soon for the written lessons.
Great! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know about your awesome idea. We are always looking for more workshop ideas, and would greatly appreciate your suggestions. If you don’t want to email us, you can fill out our contact form. The link is at the top and bottom of every page.
If you were to pay for formatting, you would be charged $300+ per book. By learning how to format books yourself, you are not only gaining the ability to save hundreds of dollars per book, but also the ability to add an income stream by formatting books for others. At $199.95, the workshop is saving you tons of money.
We do not currently offer payment options or subscriptions, nor do we plan to do so in the future. However, we may break up the workshop into beginner and advanced classes for smaller fees in the future.

We have enabled comments in the section for each class video so that students can ask questions, and learn from others who may have had the same questions. You can also email us at email@example.com for urgent questions, or fill out our contact form.
At this time, we do not support video downloading to save on server resources. This is to ensure our site runs smoothly for all students. This is also to ensure the proprietary nature of the videos.
That is the beauty of video courses. You can take your time and learn at your own pace. Plow through all 24 videos in a single day, or take a few weeks. You have access to the videos and comments section for life once you purchase the course.

Absolutely not. You have to click on the placeholder image to get to the video to activate. Once the videos activate, they do play automatically. This is to cut down on loading time, and give you time to prepare yourself to watch them. To us, there is nothing worse than clicking on a link, and being instantly bombarded with random people talking. We’re confident we aren’t the only ones.
Head on over to our sign up page and fill in your information. You will have access to the member’s area instantly after payment is completed. This may take a few days if you pay by e-check, but for all other payment types through PayPal, your access will be instantaneous.
You can login on any page of our site. The login area is at the top of each page. Or you can go to the separate login screen and bookmark it for easier access.
